Fall d'Orcia II
Grounded
120 x 120 cm | acrylic on linen
2900
For this project, an interior architect approached me with a special request. Her client had fallen in love with Fall d'Orcia I, but the space called for a diptych. This became the starting point for Fall d'Orcia II: a new painting created in the same colour palette and atmosphere, while featuring its own composition and character.
Together, the two abstract paintings create a balanced dialogue, yet each piece is equally strong when displayed on its own. This versatility made the commission a perfect fit for the interior.
When I personally delivered the paintings, everything fell into place. The historic home, the interior and its owner formed a harmonious setting in which the artworks truly belonged. It immediately became clear why both the architect and her client had been so drawn to Fall d'Orcia I. It was a perfect match – between the artwork, the space and the people who live there.
This project illustrates how a commissioned abstract painting can be tailored to complement both the architecture and the atmosphere of an interior.
