From her studio in Vleuten (Utrecht), Marella creates paintings for clients across the Netherlands and abroad. She begins each painting with brush-applied layers, before building up structure and texture with the palette knife — a process where precision and intuition take turns. Her inspiration comes from contrast: the harmony and chaos in nature and in ourselves, the play of light and shadow, the layered quality of a landscape or a city.
