Sienna City

Sienna City is an abstract painting created on commission, inspired by the work Spring and the City. The clients were drawn to specific elements of that piece, but wished to bring the warmth of burnt sienna more clearly to the forefront. The painting was also allowed to be more expressive in presence. Using interior photographs and colour samples from the space, a new palette took shape. Warm layers of sienna form the foundation, enriched with refined details in bronze and champagne gold. These metallic accents catch the light subtly, adding depth and nuance while maintaining a sense of calm. Because the painting was to be hung higher than usual – due to the presence of four-legged companions in the home – special attention was given to the lower edge of the work. The composition is balanced and considered from every angle. Throughout the process, the clients were closely involved. A viewing moment was planned, followed by a few small adjustments. The final installation felt like a celebration, as everything came together naturally – colour, space and intention. The work found its place beautifully.
