Art can bring a space to life and add a unique atmosphere. With a custom-made painting, you go one step further: it reflects your taste, style, and story, perfectly matching your interior. Creating a personalized painting is a special experience where we transform your ideas into something tangible and unique. You decide on the size, colors, and look. Almost anything is possible! Curious about how this works? Check out the steps below.

Find Your Inspiration

Take a look at my existing works and let me know which styles, colors, or themes appeal to you. This could also be based on your own photos, such as landscapes, street scenes, or architecture, or even an image from a magazine. Every artwork I create is unique; I don’t make exact copies of previous works because each piece is built through layers and intuitive choices.

Step 2

We Schedule an Appointment

Let’s meet, preferably at your home or at the location (NL) where the artwork will be displayed. This way, I can get a good feel for the space and atmosphere. During this conversation, we’ll discuss the size, color palette, and any personal elements you’d like to include in the painting. I offer free advice on the right size based on a digital photo. If an in-person meeting is not possible, we can schedule a video call. The goal is to clearly understand your wishes so I can translate them into an artwork. After that, you’ll receive a personalized quote.

Step 3

Create Your Artwork

Once you approve the quote, I will start creating your painting. This is a process filled with patience and passion, where I use different techniques to create depth. I’ll keep you updated on the progress, but since my approach is intuitive and consists of many layers, I will only show the painting when I feel it is balanced. At that point, you can indicate if there’s anything you’d like to adjust.

Step 4

Receive Your Unique Artwork

After a few weeks, your painting is ready for unveiling. I ensure safe packaging and shipping, or I can deliver it personally. I’m also happy to help you choose a suitable frame and with framing so your painting is ready to hang on the wall immediately. It’s time to enjoy your artwork!

Commissioning a painting?

Commissioning a painting is a very special experience; you get a unique, personal piece of art. This gives me, as an artist, the most satisfaction because it is a collaboration. I mostly paint nature, landscapes, or work with a specific color palette, but I can 'abstract' anything. So feel free to ask; you will always receive a unique and special artwork!

What is a commissioned painting?

A commissioned abstract painting is a unique piece of art that I create specifically for you, tailored to your preferences. You choose the size, colors, and overall feel of the painting. Not sure exactly what you want yet? No worries, I'm happy to help with ideas and advice so we can create a painting together that perfectly fits your interior.

What materials do you use?

For my paintings, I only use the best materials. This includes high-quality acrylic paint, oil pastels, and even gold leaf for an extra special effect. Sometimes I also work with 22-carat gold leaf for a subtle sheen. Each painting is created on sturdy linen and stretched over a solid aluminum frame, but if you have other preferences, we can certainly discuss them.

What is the best size for a painting?

The perfect size for a painting depends on your space and taste. Every painting is custom-made, so it will always suit your interior. People often choose a "statement piece," a large painting that really stands out in the room. But I can create paintings in all sorts of sizes, from 60 x 80 cm up to 2 meters high. Together, we can decide what works best for your space.

How long does it take to complete my painting?

It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks to create a custom painting. But, of course, I’ll keep you updated on the progress!

Can I hang the painting immediately?

Yes, absolutely! Each painting comes with a sturdy hanging system made of twisted wire, so you can hang it on your wall as soon as you receive it.

How long will my painting last?

Your painting is an investment you can enjoy for many years to come. I use only the highest quality materials to ensure your artwork lasts a long time. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity. And if you like, I can apply a varnish to protect the painting against dirt and UV light.

What is the price of a custom abstract painting?

The price of a custom painting depends on the size and materials we choose, but it’s generally the same as the price of my completed works. Want to know more about the prices and options? Feel free to send me a message—I’m happy to answer your questions!

Do I have to pay upfront for a commissioned painting?

Usually, you don't have to pay upfront. You pay only when the painting is completely finished, and you are satisfied with it. After we discuss your preferences, I'll provide a quote so you know exactly what to expect. For larger projects or multiple paintings, I do request a small deposit of 15%, but I’ll explain everything during our conversation.

What are the payment terms?

Once you’ve accepted the quote and if a deposit is needed, I’ll send you an invoice that you can pay via bank transfer. When the painting is ready, you’ll receive an invoice for the remaining amount. I kindly ask that this is paid within 14 days. Once everything is settled, I’ll ship the painting to you.

Am I obliged to buy the artwork?

No, you are certainly not obliged. I want you to be completely happy with your painting. If it’s not exactly what you wanted, you’re not obligated to purchase it. I want you to be truly satisfied with what you receive.

Is a matching frame included?

I can definitely provide a beautiful frame for you and include it in the quote. I believe a painting is truly complete with a matching frame, and I’m happy to help you choose the perfect one.
