Method & inspiration
What is your process like?
My paintings are created intuitively, but always with a well-thought-out plan for composition and color palette. I work with a combination of brush and palette knife and build my works layer by layer. This creates rich textures and depth. My process is a balance between control and spontaneity, with each painting gradually forming.
What makes your paintings unique?
Each work is a translation of my own experiences and observations. Layering, dynamic lines and sometimes gold or metallic accents give my paintings a special depth and contrast. They are designed to constantly reveal new details and nuances. Even if I wanted to, I can't make exact copies of previous work. They are all one of a kind.
What inspires you when painting?
I get my inspiration from architecture, nature and the interaction between feeling and analysis. My background in interior design and digital design plays a major role in this. I like to work with contrasts, structures and subtle light reflections to bring a certain atmosphere to my work.
Materials & formats
What materials do you use?
For my paintings, I only use the best materials. This includes high-quality acrylic paint, oil pastels, and even gold foil for an extra special effect. Sometimes I also work with 24-carat gold leaf for a subtle sheen. Each painting is created on sturdy linen and stretched over a solid aluminum frame, but if you have other preferences, we can certainly discuss them.
What is a commissioned painting?
A commissioned abstract painting is a unique piece of art that I create specifically for you, tailored to your preferences. You choose the size, colors, and overall feel of the painting. Not sure exactly what you want yet? No worries, I'm happy to help with ideas and advice so we can create a painting together that perfectly fits your interior.
What is the best size for a commissioned painting?
The perfect size for a painting depends on your space and taste. Every painting is custom-made, so it will always suit your interior. People often choose a "statement piece," a large painting that really stands out in the room. But I can create paintings in all sorts of sizes, from 60 x 80 cm up to meters high. Together, we can decide what works best for your space.
How do I know if a painting fits my interior?
I would like to help you find a painting that perfectly matches your space. This can be done through photos or a conversation where we discuss which colors, sizes, and compositions work best. For customization, I look specifically at the space and your wishes to create a painting that fits seamlessly with your interior.
Production & delivery
How long does it take to complete a painting?
It usually takes about 6-10 weeks to create a (custom) painting. But, of course, I’ll keep you updated on the progress!
Can I hang the painting immediately?
Yes, absolutely! Each painting comes with a sturdy hanging system made of twisted wire, so you can hang it on your wall as soon as you receive it.
Is a matching frame included?
I can definitely provide a beautiful floating frame for you and include it in the quote. I’m happy to help you choose the perfect one. Although my works often don't need it, since they are stretched on 4,5cm thick frame.
How long will my painting last?
Your painting is an investment you can enjoy for many years to come. I use only the highest quality materials to ensure your artwork lasts a long time. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity. And if you like, I can apply a varnish to protect the painting against dirt and UV light.
Costs & payment
Where can I buy your art?
You can buy my artworks directly from me. Each piece is an original, with prices between €2.000 and €5.500 (for direct sales). If you’re in the Netherlands or Belgium, I can personally deliver and help with installation.
Some of my paintings are available via the renowned art platform Singulart, which offers worldwide shipping and secure online buying — though a commission applies there.
What is the price of a custom abstract painting?
The price of a custom painting depends on the size and materials we choose, but it’s generally the same as the price of my completed works. Want to know more about the prices and options? Feel free to send me a message—I’ll answer all your questions!
How does payment work for a custom painting?
For commissioned work, I ask for a 50% deposit at the start of the process. The remaining 50% is due upon completion—once the artwork is finished and ready to be delivered. This way, everything is clear from the beginning, and we can dive into the project with confidence.
If you'd like to make changes that go beyond the original concept or take the painting in a new direction, that’s absolutely possible. Just note that additional costs may apply in those cases.
What are the payment terms?
Once you’ve accepted the quote and if a deposit is needed, I’ll send you an invoice that you can pay via bank transfer. When the painting is ready, you’ll receive an invoice for the remaining amount. I kindly ask that this is paid within 14 days. Once everything is settled, I’ll ship the painting to you or deliver it myself.
